It is really a Place for Love Stories..! PDF Print E-mail
Hazem Tayara - Aljazeeratalk - Verona Italy
From the very first moment you walk down the town’s streets, let your eyes wonder in its corners and old markets, you will figure out that you are in a unique place where love stories are told.
Verona, the quite town of northern Italy that sleeps in the laps of mountains, gained its fame after it hosted one of the most romantic love stories (Romeo and Juliet),written by the magnificent Shakespeare. The famous play turned Verona into a great worldwide tourist’s attraction.
The small villa (Villa Capoltine), in the heart of the old town, can never be missed as it is always crowded by tourists. The villa was the house of Juliet where most of the story took place.

Soon after you cross the entrance, which has a wall full of lovers’ signatures, you will find yourself in a small courtyard facing a statue of Juliet standing under her famous Balcony. You will also notice how excited people are to skim every single detail just as if they trying to live a part of the story.

In a close manor, are machines were a conversation between Romeo and Juliet can be listened to.
Entering the house, you will see the wooden casket where Juliet lied in when she was pretending death, waiting for Romeo. Near the casket there is a statue of Shakespeare.

Here you cannot stop yourself from thinking about the story and whether it was all real or just parts of it like many experts said.

But Verona has many other sites to visit than Villa Capoltine. Every step you walk here gives you the complete filling of a wide historical heritage of Verona’s Arena. It brings you back to the days of old Romans, through the narrow markets, that send you back to middle centuries.

You will never be able to forget Verona’s beautiful squares that hold statues of famous scientists and novelists such as Dante.

Here you can feel the glory that fascinated Shakespeare and read what he wrote about Verona on a marble board fixed on the wall of the old town gate.
